Russell WIDEMAN, 70, Mishawaka, died at 9 a.m. Friday in South Bend St. Joseph hospital following an illness of several years. He was born Dec. 29, 1905 in Akron to Elmer and Lola KINDIG WIDEMAN. He had been traffic manager in Indianapolis for 40 yeas with the Jones and Laughlin Steel company. His wife, the former Bernice GORDON, died Feb. 9, 1969. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Sandra Joyce) WAINWRIGHT of Mishawaka, with whom Mr. Wideman had resided the last three years; four grandchildren; the mother, of Rochester; three sisters, Miss Marie WIDEMAN, Rochester Mrs. Lester (Valura) BRYANT, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) LEININGER, Warsaw, and an aunt, Mrs. Justin (Gladys) HALL, Rochester. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. J. D. THOMASON officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Hope cemetery at Athens. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and on Monday prior to services.
