Mrs. Mary Reimers Brought to Osage for Burial Thursday

The body of Mrs. Mary Reimers, one of the oldest residents of Mitchell county, was brought here for burial last Thursday and Friday after a short service at the grave, she was laid to rest beside her husband, Markus Reimers.
Mary Lloyd Reimers was born in Wales in 1843, and died at the age of 78 years August 23, 1921. At the age of 3 years she came from Wales to America with her parents, who settle at Arena, Wis. In 1863 she was married at Reinee, Wis to Markus Reimers. A few years later they moved to Mitchell county, and settled on a farm in Burr Oak township. Here they lived many years and upon deciding to retire, sold their place and moved to Osage, buying the residence in the 3rd ward, now occupied by the Nels Anderson family.
Mr. Reimers died about 13 years ago and Mrs. Reimers lived on the place until 1918, when she went to live on the home place, which has always been operated by her brother Evan Lloyd. Here she died after a short illness.
The Reimers were among the first pioneers of the county. They cleared their land, making the wilderness into one of the county's finest farms, and they watched Osage grow from a few little shacks into a prosperous town. Most of their old neighbors have gone beyond, but many here will remember them as a kindly old couple, liked and respected by all.

Siblings are; Catherine(Coldwell) 1840-1893, Jonh F.1842-1903, Dorothy (Woolworth) 1844-1936, Ann (Nesbitt) 1846-1929, Sarah "Ellen" 1849-1883, Robert F. 1851-1929, Jane 1852-1944,Francis(Frank) 1855-(?) Evan J. 1857-1944
