H. E. Macy dies at 92

Harry E. Macy, 92, Cherokee, died June 1 in the Cherokee Care Center following a nine-month illness. He had been a resident of Cherokee since 1915. He was a brother of Dorothy Lauder, Fairfield and spent several winters here.

The service was Monday at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Masonic rites were Sunday. Attending the funeral were Dorothy Lauder, Mr. and Mrs. Don Lauder, Beulah and Willard Macy, Fairfield ; Helen Parsons, Burlington and Lucille Stevenson,
Marengo.

Macy, the son of O.L. and Viola Westenhaver Macy, was born Aug 4, 1886 in Fairfield and reared in Jefferson County. He was a graduate of Pleasant Plain Academy. He married Leila Harrison Feb. 22, 1911. He was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church and several orders of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by a daughter, Audrey Noonan, Hayward, Calif., two brothers, IraMacy Winterhaven, Fla., and Wilbur Macy, Toulon, Ill., and his sister, Dorothy Lauder, Farifield. He is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother.
