Wilke F. Kiner Was Accidently Killed

Funeral services were held for Wilke F. Kiner at the Masonic Temple in Cherokee at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. Rev. M. P. Arrasmith of Storm Lake, former pastor at Cherokee officiated. Masonic and Legion rites were accorded Mr. Kiner and the full Masonic rituals were held at the temple and Oak Hill cemetery.
Mr. Kiner was killed in an accident while on duty as switchman at the Illinois Central railroad yards Thursday night, Feb. 23. He was born in Ida Grove, Jan. 29, 1900, and has lived most of his life in Cherokee. He was married to Agnes Sjostrom Nov. 18, 1933 They lived on Webster street where only recently they had completed a new home.
Besides his affiliation with the Masons and Legion he was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. Survivors are the widow, his mother, Mrs. Emma Kiner, Cherokee; one sister, Mrs. R. W. Skaro, Sioux Falls, S.D., two brothers, L. E. Kiner, Sioux City and L. F. Kiner, Essex, IA.
