His grandson, Floyd Simeon Root, Sr. had once said that the body of William Henry laid in state in the front room (with the french doors) of the Root homeplace. Floyd said he had listened to the eulogy from the stairway, and also added that the choir from the church William had attened, sang at the funeral.
