Mrs. Eva Adams Benson, age 88, of Benson died Friday at Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield.
Funeral service will be 11:00AM Tuesday at Benson Grove Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Billy Cashwell. Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Benson was born September 27, 1922 in Johnston County to the late Delbert and Laura Canaday Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherbert Edgar Benson.
Mrs. Benson attended East Carolina University where she studied home economics. She graduated from Kings Business College and became the secretary to the director of the old Raleigh airport. Mrs. Benson then moved to Miami, Florida to work with Eastern Airlines administering pilots' exams. She moved back to Johnston County to farm with her husband. Later, Mrs. Benson was employed with Hudson Belk in downtown Raleigh as the supervisor for house wares.
She was a member of Benson Grove Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are Daughters & Sons-in-Law, Jean B. & Jerry L. Douglas, Janice B. & E. Randall Allen, and Sue B. & Jerry Vann; Grandchildren, Jeremy Vann, Adam Vann, and Matthew Douglas.
Family will receive friends Monday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Benson Grove Baptist Church.
