Mrs. John Den Hartog, 74, of Hospers died Sunday in the hospital at Orange City after a long illness.
Mrs. Den Hartog, the former Hattie Dorsman, was born Jan. 11, 1890 at Alton. She was married to Abe Brinkhuis Jan. 4, 1922 at Alton. Mr. Brinkhuis died Jan. 20, 1954. She was married to John Den Hartog Feb. 2. 1960 at Rock Valley and the couple moved to Hospers last year.
Survivors include her husband: 3 daughters, Mrs. Harry Terpstra, Mrs. John Sandbulte and Mrs. Richard Van Surksum; 2 sons, Abe Brinkhuis and Rev. James Brinkhuis; 7 stepdaughters, 6 stepsons; two brothers, four sisters, 22 grandchildren and 36 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church, Hospers. Burial was in Hospers Cemetery.
