Walter Gordon Amos Sr. 76, of Rocky Mount, passed away June 22, 1993. Mr. Amos is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mamie Hodges Amos; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter G. Jr. and Betty Amos and Lewis D. and Donna Amos; a grandson, Tommy Amos; a granddaughter, Sherry Montgomery; a stepgranddaughter, Cara Lovell; his sister, Ruby Adams; a special nephew, Robert Lee Dalton; several other relatives. Mr. Amos was employed by Bald Knob Furniture Company and later retired from the Lane Company with 43 years of service. Mr. Amos served his country in Europe during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #6 in Rocky Mount. He and his wife Mamie have been members of Henry Fork Brethren Church for 55 years. Burial will be in Hodges/Lynch Family Cemetery,
