He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in WWII. Mr. Snow served as principal at Surgoinsville School and later taught American History at Daniel Boone High School for many years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and was the kindest, sweetest and appreciative gentleman you would ever meet.
Mr. Snow was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Alpha Omega Carpenter Snow; and his 8 brothers and sisters.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Thelma Holmes, of Melbourne, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 1115 Hwy 11W, Church Hill, TN.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Phil Kestner officiating.
Burial will follow in Hawkins County Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be conducted by the Hawkins County Color Guard and the TN National Guard. The Color Guard will serve as pallbearers.
