Dee - James (Jimmy) Dee Sr., 53 of 3518 Beau Lane passed away Tuesday in a local hospital. Native and former resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Houston resident 40 years. Was a machinist with Dresser Industries, Cleco Division, Member of Bauman Road Baptist Church, Past president of Machinist Local No 696 Veteran of War II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors: wife, Arla Faye Hamilton Dee; step-father Jesse Tallent; daughters, Mrs. Margaret Hammer, Mrs. Beverly Shearer; son, James Dee, Jr.; sister, Mrs Christine Dacus; grand-children Missy, Bubba, Tricie, and Tiffany Hammer; Ken and Kev Dee, all of Houston. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Chapel, Brother Lindsey Mimons Jr., officiating Interment Brooksside Memorial Park. Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home 6900 Lawndale Ave.

Bio
James Edward Dee Sr., was born in Chattanooga, TN to an strong Irish woman named Maggie O'Brien, and Sicilian born father Giacomo Di Dia aka Chris Dee aka Giacomo De Dia. He also had two siblings Giovanni Guglielmo "John W. Dee" De Dia who was born in San Diego, California. The family later return back to Chattanooga, TN, then left for Sicily. Only acouple of years did Maggie and only one son (my grandfather James E. Dee Sr.) return back to the U.S. while she was pregnant with her third child Mildred Christine Dee. A few year later Maggie and her children made their way to Houston, TX where not too far Maggie sister Willie Hollifield lived. South/East side of the 610 Loop & Hwy 69 in Houston, Texas (Coal St and 2 blocks north on Vintage St).
