Loretta Milligan, 75, of Leland, passed away Sunday, Nov.26, 2006 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Born in Brunswick County , her parents were the late William Long and Winnie Caison Long.
She is survived by her sons, David Earl Milligan Jr. of Charlotte, NC, William P. (Bill) Milligan and his wife, Teresa, both of Godwin, NC, and Christopher James Milligan of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Jill Hill and husband, Michael Hill, Christopher Milligan, Brett Milligan and Brandon Milligan, all of Godwin, NC; fiancee and constant companion, Steve Herring of Burgaw, NC; sister, Mary Carteret and husband, Marvin Carteret, both of Bolivia, NC; brother, Elmer Long of Ash, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl Milligan Sr., in 1991.
The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Coble Ward-Smith, officiated by Rev. James Buchanan. Pallbearers will be Ray Carteret, Sammy Carteret, Jay Elliott, Steve Reeves, Butch Herring and Ed Gurganious. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park .
The family received friends on Tuesday evening at Coble Ward-Smith, 3915 Oleander Drive , Wilmington .
