Mosella (Cross) Boettcher was born March 25, 1923, at Madison, SD, to Charlie and Emma (Jacobs) Cross. She was raised in Howard, SD, where she graduated from high school. Following her graduation, she assisted her parents on the farm.
She was united in marriage to Leeland Boettcher on November 15, 1947, in Howard, SD. After moving to Sioux Falls in 1948, Mosella became a homemaker and loving mother.
A longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church, she was also involved in church circle and taught Sunday school. In her free time, she loved to embroider and to spend time outdoors in her rose garden.
Loving and kind, Mosella's nurturing spirit will be forever cherished.
Grateful for having shared her life are her sons, Raymond (Sharon) Boettcher, Fremont, NE, Darrell Boettcher, Hot Springs, SD; daughter, Janet Boettcher, Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren, Sean Boettcher, Nikki (Michael) Rains, Jennifer (Jon) Wiseman, Aimee (Brian) Boehrns, Jerrid Schmidt, Zachary Boettcher, John McKenzie; seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Janet McKenzie, Brandon, SD; son-in-law, Larry Schmidt, Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Harley (Mavis) Cross, Howard, SD; and sister, Inez Reimer, of Sioux Falls, SD. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deann Schmidt; great-grandson, Matthew Rains; brothers and sisters, Verlee Cross, Jesse Cross, Delores Pascaul, Avenelle Alquire, Russell Cross and Darrell Cross.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 Wednesday, at Wesley United Methodist Church. Visitation for Mosella begins at noon, Tuesday, with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday evening at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue.
