SERVICES HELD FOR BERTIE FORCE

Bertie Force, 92, of Grinnell died Tuesday afternoon in her home at 913 6th Ave. here.

Funeral services for Bertie Force were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn. The Rev. Myron Harris, pastor of the Northside Friends Church, officiated. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brooklyn.

The daughter of James Franklin and Mary M. Sanger Roudabush, she was born on March 14, 1885, in Scotts Ford, Va. She came to Iowa in 1899. On Dec. 30, 1903, she was married to Benjamin Franklin Force in Poweshiek County, and the couple farmed in the county except for three years spent in Nebraska.

She lived most of her life in the Brooklyn area until her move to Grinnell, where she made her home with her daughter, Bernice Dayton. She was a member of the Grace United church.

She is survived by one son, Earl, of Brooklyn, and four daughters, Bernice Dayton and Viola Lineweaver, both of Grinnell, Blanche McIlrath of Mesa, Ariz., and Daisy Miller of Hartwick. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and one sister.
