After his parole he was given a sick furlough from July to October, 1863. He did not return to his regiment until November, 1863 and so he was reduced in the ranks to Pvt. on December 1, 1863. His widow, Sarah l. Ross received a Mississippi Confederate Widow's Pension in 1916 while living with a Son in Kemper County, Mississippi.
