"Alvin Kunz Eschler, 81, died May 18, 1985 in a Salt Lake City hospital of heart failure. Born April 4, 1904 in Montpelier, Idaho to Gottfried and Rose Kunz Eschler, Married Selma Johnson Nov. 6, 1926; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an elder in the LDS Church and served in various positions including scout master and Sunday school superintendent. Was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for over 40 years. Alvin was a devoted brother, husband, father and grandfather. Survived by wife, Sandy; daughters, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Wainwright, Mrs. Larry (Norma Jean) Loder, Karen Lynn Capener, all of Salt Lake City; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. C. Kent (Maude) Cozier, J. LaMont Eschler, Louise Eschler, Zula Calder, Mrs. Robert (Winifred) Penman, all of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Douglas P. Larsen of Castro Valley, Calif.
