Farel George Anderson, 62, 1555 South Orchard Drive, Bountiful, active church worker, lifetime Scouter, contractor, died April 9, 1971 in a Salt Lake City hospital of natural causes.
He was a high priest in the 39th LDS Ward, as a well as the Ward Scout camp director.
He has served as YMMIA stake and ward superintendent, Sunday School superintendent, Scouter on district level in the stake dance director, Master M-Man and Eagle Scout.
He has also served in the presidencies of the Seventy's Quorums in Heber City and Bountiful.
He fulfilled a Texas-Louisiana mission for the LDS Church.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He was born in Heber City, Utah, Jan. 21, 1909, to Joseph and Carrie Olsen Anderson.
He married Fern Nelson, March 6, 1946, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Marilyn and sons, Stanley N., Sherman F., John K. and Richard L., all of Bountiful. Brothers and sister, Ervin, Ken, both of Heber City; Alen, Boise, Idaho; Wallace, Vernal; Mrs. Diane (Grace) Wilcox, Salt Lake City.
The Funeral services took place Monday, April 12, 1971, at the Bountiful 39th Ward Chapel, with Bishop Dwight Williams, conducting.
The family prayer was offered by Stanley Anderson.
Prelude and postlude music were played by LaDon Tone.
The invocation was offered by LaVance Nelson, followed by bishop's remarks by Bishop Dwight Williams.
A vocal solo was sung by Max Thorn and David Evans.
Speakers were Ervin Anderson, D. Christian Ronnow, and President Ray Sargent.
An organ medley was played by Sherman Anderson.
The benediction was offered by Ken Anderson.
Pallbearers were Glen Anderson, a brother; Dean Wilcox, brother-in-law; and sons, Stanley Anderson, John Anderson and Richard Anderson.
The flowers were arranged for by the Bountiful 25th-39th Ward Relief Societies.
Dedication of the grave was given by Wallace Anderson, and the internment was handled through Bountiful Memorial Park.
