Amos Elgin Adcock Jr., 71, a resident of Stockdale, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2003. He was born in Wilson County, Texas, on May 28, 1932, to Sarah Thelma Adcock and Amos Elgin Adcock, Sr. On Nov. 23, 1952, he married Doris Faye West. Mr. Adcock was a farmer and a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Doris Adcock of Stockdale; daughters Sandra Cannon and husband Robert of Stockdale, and Kay Adcock and fiancé Chad of Nixon, Texas; sons Berry Adcock and wife Lynn and Lane Adcock and wife Linda, all of Victoria, Texas, Tommy Adcock and wife Linda of Nixon, and Ricky Adcock and wife Gail of Stockdale; a sister, Anne Clark and husband Tommy of Seguin, Texas; a brother, Robert Adcock and wife Sandra of Stockdale; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6, in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, in the Finch Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Don Hessong and the Rev. Michael Cowey officiating. Interment followed in the Nockenut Cemetery in Stockdale.
