Orville Clay Bradfield, 86, 2122 Kentucky Ave., died at 8:20 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Medical Center where he had been a patient since Jan. 17.

Born Sept. 11, 1888, at Alba, he was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Bradfield was employed by the Joplin Supply Company for 55 years in the sales division, retiring in 1964. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a 65 year member of the Alba Criterion Lodge No. 586, AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Stella Bradfield, whom he married Jan. 9, 1915, at Webb City; a son, Max Bradfield, Fort Worth, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Ashley Vaughn III, Dallas, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Sponable, 320 Highland Ave., and Mrs. Irma Beyer, Medera, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Thornhill-Dillon Chapel. Dr. William H. Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tode Cook, Max Close, Floyd Kolb, Earl Rose, Ed Bareni, and Delbert Clopton. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Heart Association of Jasper County.
