At the time of their move to Washington, it was still Washington Territory. The State of Washington was admitted to the Union on November 11, 1889 as the 42nd U.S. state.

They also had one daughter of record, Katie (Ella) B. Barker born Feb. 10., 1878, Douglas Co., OR. She died 1938, Spokane Co., WA and was unmarried. She was an Assistant Secretary for a school board.
There is a M. Barker also buried in this cemetery but at this time not known if related to Jesse's family.
