Mrs. Maude H. Merrill, the widow of Stanley E. Merrill, died March 13 at a local hospital. She was born in Garland, May 16, 1889, daughter of James and Sylvia (Burrill) Bell. She was a member of the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, Women's Fellowship, past master of Central Grange and a member of East Piscataquis Pomona Grange. She was a Past Noble Grand of Winona Rebekah Lodge; a member of the Past Noble Grand Club, Past President of Athena Club, a member of Community Garden Club and a member of the Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Ernest (Carmelita) Faulkner of Augusta and Mrs. George (Melba) Warren of Dover-Foxcroft; a sister, Mrs. Susie McKechney [sic., i.e., McKechnie], of Waterville and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were March 16, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.
Spring burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft.
