Services for Mrs. Bessie Alexander, 75, of Evant will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday (today) at the Evant Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Robert Simmons will conduct the rites and burial will be in the Knox Cemetery near Evant.
Mrs. Alexander died early Sunday in a Temple hospital.
She was born April 15, 1909, at Shive and was reared in that community. She was married to Tee Alexander at Shive in 1929, and they lived in the Evant area all their married life. Mr. Alexander died last September.
Mrs. Alexander was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Melba Gene Townsend of Evant and Mrs. Janie Ann Matthews of Abilene; three sons, William (Dub) Alexander, James Allen Alexander of Oglesby and Norman Alexander of Greeley, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. Cornelia Barner of Post, Mrs. Nora Massingill of Fairy and Mrs. Nannie Alexander of Claude; two brothers, Spurlin Connell of Colorado and Albert Connell of Hamilton; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Five of her children preceded her in death.
