Marie Sellenschutter, 91, of Columbia died Monday, Sept. 4, 2006, at Brooking Park Nursing Home in Chesterfield.
She was born on a farm in Best Bottom near Rhineland on Aug. 9, 1915, to the late Rudolph G. and Collette E. (Theissen) Kolks.
She was married to LeRoy Sellenschutter on Jan. 17, 1937, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Hermann.
Mrs. Sellenschutter was a graduate of Hermann High School.
In 1965 she moved to Columbia to help care for her two grandsons. She was known for her sense of humor and quick wit she brought to her friends and family.
She is survived by one daughter, Anita Adams of Columbia; two grandsons, Brian Adams and his wife, Dezra, of Pasadena, Calif., and Stuart Adams and his wife, Susan, of St. Louis; a brother-in-law, Ralph Sellenschutter; three great-grandchildren, Curtis, Nathan and Caroline Adams of Creve Coeur; and a cousin, Robert Kolks.
Private graveside services were held at St. JosephÂ's Cemetery in Rhineland on Thursday, Sept. 7, with Fr. Bill Debo officiating. (Martin Giesing-rootsweb)
