A native of Arkansas, he was employed as an electrician at Warner Gear (now Borg-Warner Automotive, Transmission Systems) for 40 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 33.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Anna May Hughes Shackelford; a daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Albert Johnson, Muncie; a sister, Gertrude Raines, Orleans; five grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery, southwest of Muncie. Calling at the mortuary will be 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
