Roger Eugene Acord


ENON, - Roger Eugene Acord, 56, of Enon, W.Va., died Aug. 7, 2001 at Summersville Memorial Hospital.


Born December 11, 1944 in Raleigh County, he was a son of the late Russell and Gladys Cochran Acord. He worked as a welder , was a former coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He was preceded in death by one son, Russell Eugene Acord.


Survivors include his wife, Erma Holcomb Acord; four daughters, Sheila Acord Johnson of Mt. Lookout, Melody Acord and Melinda Acord, both of Keslers, Cross Lanes and Gina Acord of Montrose, Colo.; one brother, Russell Acord, Jr. of Enon; two sisters, Pam Painter of Drennen and Sue Brown of Canvas; five step-children, six grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.


Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at White Funeral Home, Summersville with Pastor Richard Talbot officiating. Interment will follow in the Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery at Keslers, Cross Lanes. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursd&ay from 6 to 8 p.m.
