SPRINGFIELD - Theodore A. Tobiasz, 88, died on February 5, 2011 in Springfield. Born on March 4, 1922 in Central Falls, RI to Waclaw and Apolonia (Karnafel) Tobiasz he was a resident of Springfield since 1957. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII in the Pacific Theatre and on the Goodwill Tour after the war. He retired from Monsanto Corporation. He enjoyed baseball and Keno . He was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church. Predeceased by his parents, his wife, Helen (Skarzynski) his son, Theodore, and his brother, Joseph, he leaves his devoted daughter, Karen Tobiasz and her partner, Ray Arnold of Springfield; his sister, Theresa Jensen of FL; grandchildren: Heidi Cincone and Rachael LaBerge and great-grandchildren: David LaBerge, Steven Connell-LaBerge, Codie Cincone and John Dougherty III. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 10 from 6:00-8:00 PM at New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street Springfield, MA 01108. Friends are asked to meet at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Friday at 10:00 AM for a Liturgy of Christian Burial. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
