Parents died at a young age and he was raised by his aunt, Annie (Nereson) Sundet and her husband, Sivert Sundet, in Gary, MN. Attended North Dakota State Univ. (it had a different name then), served in Army Air Corps as a radiology technician and was sent to France in WWII. Had 3 children by his first wife, Laura Dotson: Patty, Ron, and Dean. Earned BS degree at Univ. of Santa Fe, worked at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, where his brother, Norris, also worked. Retired in Albuquerque (his sister, Nora Thelma also lived there), and then moved to Fargo where his son, Bruce, and family live, and where his second wife, Ethel, was from. Arnie was a very congenial man, with a good sense of humor.
