The Daily Courier-Gazette, McKinney, Texas, 16 Nov 1925, page 7:
Mrs. Nancy Adeline Bilderback, widow of James A Bilderback, died Monday at her home in the Bilderback community, northeast of Celina.
Grandma Bilderback was born Oct. 26, 1840 and was 86 on the 26th day of last month. Her 86th birthday anniversary was celebrated Sunday, Oct. 25th by a gathering of her children, grandchildren and friends, who brought with them an elegant dinner and the occasion was greatly enjoyed. While it was known that she was nearing the end of her earthly journey, no one surmised that it was to come so soon.
Deceased was married to James A. Bilderback in 1864, and they were a pioneer couple of this community. The husband preceded the wife to the grave by a number of years. Eight children were born to the union. One died in infancy and James Bilderback died Oct. 8, 1911.
The others survive and are as follows:
Miss Thursa Bilderback, Celina; Frank Bilderback, Hedley, Texas; Mrs. Carrie Callahan, Omer Bilderback, Celina; Mrs. Belle Johnson, Ravenna; Charlie Bilderback, Celina.
Mrs. Bilderback leaves 41 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was converted 18 years ago joining the church some years later.
The funeral was at Cottage Hill church, Tuesday at 2 p. m. and the burial was at Cottage Hill cemetery. A large number of relatives and friends attended the services and bestowed upon the grave a wealth of floral offerings. The services over the body was conducted by Rev. C. B. Felder, pastor of the Van Alstyne Methodist church, and Rev. E Canster, pastor of the Weston Methodist church.
The influence of this good woman's life and that of the family of children she reared has and will be felt for a long time to come in the community.
