Martha Jean Daugherty, age 85, of Winterset passed away Friday, April 8, 2011, at the Cardinal House in Cambridge. She was born January 2, 1926 in Wheeling, WVa. A member of Winterset United Methodist Church and a member of The Adair Bible Class of the church. She taught typing and bookkeeping at Madison and Buckeye Trail High Schools. Martha Jean and John Morton Daugherty were married on June 2, 1951 in Wheeling, Ohio, WV. Mrs. Daugherty is preceded in death by her parents Fred Lydick and Nada Bell Lydick, her husband John Morton Daugherty, a sister Dorothy Daugherty, and two brothers Ben and Fred Lydick. She is survived by two daughters, Mary K. (David) Cooper of Freeport, OH, and Nada L. (Nick) Morgus of Huntsville, AL. Two sons, John M. (Ann) Daugherty of Belle Center, OH, and Frank P. (Chris) Daugherty of Lore City, OH. Seven grandsons and three great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Smith officiating and burial will be in Antrim United Methodist Cemetery.
