LONG BEACH - Mary Dedeaux Switzer, 89, of Long Beach died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, in Gulfport. Mrs. Switzer was born October 6, 1913 in Harrison County, and was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church Parish in Long Beach and was devoted to and loved very much by her family. Preceded in death by her parents, Salvadore and Mattie Dedeaux Attaway and her husbands, H.A. Ladner, S.F. Switzer, and Earl I. Switzer; a daughter, Delores Switzer Vaughn; and a granddaughter, Terry Livingston Self. Survivors include six grandchildren, Sherry and James Van Zandt of Millsaps, Texas, Kevin and Sherrie Byrd of Long Beach, and Jackie Byrd of Chester, Va.; a son-in-law, Lee Vaughn of Pass Christian; and 11 great-grandchildren.
