Clara May Charlesworth, 89, of Gautier, Ms., passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Charlesworth was born on March 10, 1921 in Oakmont, PA to the late William and May Fennell. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Gautier, Daughters of the Revolution, Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, Mobile Quilting Guild, and founding member of the Pie Ladies Club. Mrs. Clara was a pusher, a self-driven lady. She was the Matriarch of the family and her presence consumed the room she occupied. She used these strong qualities to always get the job done which was helpful as a teacher in the school system. Mrs. Charlesworth believed that children should be spoiled with time and not with tangible gifts. The family feels a vast vacancy in their lives with her passing. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Thomas Charlesworth. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hickman (Donald L.) of Gautier, MS; two grandchildren, Diana Leigh Tansil (Michael Thomas) of Frederick, Maryland and Earl Thomas Hickman ( Kelly) of Vancleave, MS; five great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Isabel, Matthew, Ashley, and Mitchell. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 5-7pm at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will be Thursday at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Ocean Springs. Those who would like may express their condolences online at www.obryantokeefe.com
