COLUMBIA — Funeral services for Mrs. Cerell "Nan" Bean, 96 of Columbia, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2005, in the chapel of Greenlawn Funeral Home, with Dr. James W. Salter officiating. The body will be forwarded to Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon, MS, where graveside services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2005, in Brooksville Cemetery in Brooksville, MS. The family will receive friends at Greenlawn Funeral Home Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 806 Universal Drive, Columbia, SC 29209.
Mrs. Bean passed away November 25, 2005. Born on September 22, 1909, in McCool, MS, she was the daughter of the late John and Josie Scoggins, and was the widow of Leon Bean. She retired in 1972 from Noxubee General Hospital, Macon, MS, and moved to Columbia, SC to live with her daughter. Mrs. Bean was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday school class.
Surviving are a son, L. Wayne Bean and his wife, Lorrayne, of Crossville, TN; a daughter, Betty B. Sizemore of Columbia, SC; a stepdaughter, Ethel Robbins of Mobile, AL; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
