D. C. ALLMON DIES HERE AT AGE OF 77

DeWitt Claude Allmon, 77, died early Monday morning, June 7, at Longview Home where he resided the past three months.

He was a resident of the Missouri Valley community most of his life.

Mr. Allmon was born Nov. 25, 1887, at Onawa, Ia., the son of Mathew and Ada Plumer Allmon.

He was a retired farmer. Surviving are a son, Max D. Allmon, of Woodbine; four sisters, Mrs. John McCullough, Mrs. Thella Cunard and Mrs. Lloyd Smith, all of Missouri Valley, and Miss Gertrude Allmon of Nyssa, Oregon; and 4 brothers, Isaac and Bruce of Missouri Valley, John of Council Bluffs and Amos of Beaver Crossing, Neb., 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the Church of the Nazarene at 2 p. m., Wednesday. The Rev. Norbert A. Fischer will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery.

Hardy-Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Allmon funeral plans completed

Arrangements have been completed for the funeral of Dewitt C. Allmon, 77, of Missouri Valley, who died Monday at Longview Home where he had re-sided three months.

The services, directed by Hardy-Walker Funeral Home, will be held in Church of the Nazarene at 2 p m, Wednesday. The Rev. Norbert Fischer will officiate. Norris Teague will be vocal soloist and Mrs. Sharon Chance pianist.

Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery. Casket bearers will be William, Carroll and Dirwin Allmon, Kenneth Cunard, George Bird and Roger Smith.

Mr. Allmon lived in this community most of his life. He leaves a son, four brothers, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
