Esser M. Kitt, 87, a resident of the VA Hospital in Marion since 1978, died there at 9:55 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 16,1982. He was a former resident of Andrews until 1978 prior to entering the VA Hospital.
Mr. Kitt was a 35-year employee of Kitchen-Maid Corp. in Andrews, retiring in 1961. He was a member of the Andrews United Methodist Church, and served as church treasurer for a number of years. He was president of the Andrews Town Board for several years, and had taught school at Bracken in Warren Township.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Antioch Lodge 410 F&AM at Andrews.
He was born July 14, 1895, in Warren Township to Otis and Ada Moffitt Kitt. He was married Sept. 3, 1927, to Mabel Schenkel who died Nov.6,1970.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Peter (Alice) Clouser, Gas City; two sons, Jay Kitt, Andrews, and Edgar Kitt, Las Vegas, Nev.; three sisters, Mrs. Merle Shock, Mrs. Marshal (Nina) Hodgden, and Mrs. Emmett (Edith) Harrell, all of Huntington; nine grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren, and four step-grandchildren. Deceased is brother, Garr Kitt.
Friends may call at the Deal Funeral Home in Andrews from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Andrews United Methodist Church with Rev. Hugh Rohrer officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Andrews United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
Services for Esser Kitt were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Andrews United Methodist Church, with Rev. Hugh Rohrer officiating.
Pallbearers were Tyler Kitt, Kyle Kitt, Mike Chenault, Michael Schae-fer. Mark Drabenstot and Mark Clouser. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Huntington, and the Deal Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of arrangements.
