Mrs. G. W. Edmiston
Mrs. Mary E. Edmiston, wife of Guy W. Edmiston of Clarendon RD 1, died at the Brennan-Root Nursing Home at 11:30 p.m., Sunday at the age of 72 years.
Mrs. Edmiston was born in Pigeon, Forest County, November 25, 1885, and had lived in this area for the past 38 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Stoneham Ladies Aid; Warren County Chapter of Gold Star Mothers, and Tiona Grange.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons and a daughter, Edward Edmiston, Philadelphia; Foster Edmiston, Tiona; Mrs. Gerald Kingsley and Arnold Edmiston, Clarendon Heights; also 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild; three brothers, Sid Fitzgerald, Warren; Lloyd Fitzgerald, Jamestown, NY; Bill Fitzgerald, Youngsville; a half sister and three half brothers, Mrs. Florence Atwell, Clarendon DR 1; Russell and Harry E. Walters, Meadville and Leo Walters, Clarendon. A son Captain Elton Edmiston was killed in action in Germany on March 25, 1945, a daughter, Ethel Edmiston, and a brother LaVerne Fitzgerald, preceded her in death in 1955.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday for Mrs. Mary E. Edmiston, , the Rev. Carl Nelson of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating, Serving as bearers for interment in Oakland Cemetery were Curtis Sasserson, Merle Dahle, Hildore Peterson, Walter Smith, Otto Lynch and Harry Blum.
The tites were largly attended and many lovely flowers were received.
The Marshall Larsen VFW Auxiliary of Clarendon paid its respect as a group at the funeral home Tuesday evening, and Gold Star Mothers Chapter attended the funeral as a group
