JAMES W. STUBBS James W. Stubbs of East Point, GA died October 9, 2004. Mr. Stubbs retired as the East Point Assistant Chief of Police with 34 years of service. He was a member of East Point First Baptist Church and was in the Men's Gospel Chorus and the Business Men's Bible Class. Mr. Stubbs was also a member of the East Point Masonic Lodge 288 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his wife Vera Archer Stubbs and survived by beloved daughters, Margy (Miles) McAlister, Vera (Richard) Thompson, and Peggy Stubbs; five grandchildren, Lisa South, Clint Thompson, Christie Weiser, Cynthia Gray, and Madeline McCauley; three great grandchildren, Tyler Thomas, Amanda Carr, and Jerrad Weiser; six great, great grandchildren; and dear friend, Betty Pippins. Funeral Services 11 AM, Monday October 11th at East Point First Baptist Church with remains placed INstate at 10 AM. Dr. J.W. Wallis and Rev. Newt Hendrix officiating. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery. In leiu of flowers donations may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Rd. Union City, GA 30291. Carmichael-Hemperley.
