W. Fay Loftus
William Fay Loftus, 69, of Waterville, died Aug. 4, 1956, in Faxton Hospital, Utica, after a long illness. He was born Feb. 20, 1887, son of William Thomas and Mary Milet Loftus. On November 25, 1925, he married Louise Thur in Mt. Vernon. He was a carpenter in Waterville for many years, and for the past ten years he was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y. He was a member of the graduating class of 1904 of the Waterville High School. Mr. Loftus was a member of St. Bernard's Church and the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Edward, of Falls Church, VA; two daughters, Mrs. Ann Fay Hubregsen, Rochester, and Mrs. Helen Barton, Webster; a brother, James, Clinton; two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Loftus, and Mrs. Alice Jordan, both of Waterville. The funeral was held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Harry Northrop Jr. Funeral Home, and at 9:30 in St. Bernard's Church. Burial took place in St. Bernard's Cemetery. The bearers were: Richard Cowen, Milton Jannone, Anthony Ferruci, Vincent Welch, Leonard Quillman and Gerald Furner.
