Mrs. Arabel Jones Stewart, age 84, died Sunday in Gainesville, Fla. The Bulloch County native lived in Newberry, Fla., the past 25 years. She was retired from the University of Florida Veterinarian College, was a member of the Union Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, James Stewart Sr.
Survivors are four daughters, Nancy Tombley and Lucinda Simmons, both of Newberry, Melissa Burke of St. Augustine and Paulette Jones of Port Charlotte; one son, James Stewart Jr. of Newberry.
The graveside service for Mrs. Stewart will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Eastside Cemetery.
