FREDERICK J. LOFTUS, 58, of Choconut, Pa., died Thursday evening as the result of a heart attack at the home of his sister, Miss Elizabeth Loftus of Waterville. He is survived by another sister, Mrs. Edward Jordan of Waterville; two brothers, Fayette Loftus of Waterville and James Loftus of Clinton, N.Y. He was a veteran of World Wars 1 and 2. He was the first man to enlist in Oneida County in World War 1 and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Funeral services and burial will be in Waterville, Tuesday.

Frederick J. Loftus, 58, Binghamton, died in the home of his sisters, Miss Elizabeth Loftus and Mrs. Alice Jordan, Madison St., this village, June 4, 1953, after a brief illness. He was born in the Town of Marshall, son of William T. and Mary Milet Loftus. He was a veteran of World Wars 1 and 2. Besides his sisters, he leaves two brothers, James, Clinton and Fay, Waterville and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in McLean Funeral Home here and at 9:30 in St. Bernard's Church where a requiem high Mass was celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John L. Powers. Burial took place in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
