Mrs. Rebecca Ann Breedlove passed away at the home of her son, Luther, near Candler's Chapel at eight o'clock Wednesday morning. She had been in failing health for two or three years, but had been seriously ill only for the past few weeks. Mrs. Breedlove was the widow of the late J. W. Breedlove who died about ten years ago. She was in her 87th year and was born near Wheeler and had lived all her long life in this county. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Gentry, who settled in old Tishomingo County in 1844,

She was a member of the Candler's Chapel Baptist church and had been for more than half a century. She was a true and devoted wife and mother and a kind and thoughtful neighbor. She was the oldest member of a five generation family, having one great-great-great-grandchild, who lives in Arkansas.

She is survived by the following children, who were all present when death came: R. A. Breedlove, Checotah, Okla., B. L. Breedlove, Coffeeville, Miss., Mrs. T. B. Moreland, Thrasher, H. D. Breedlove and Luther Breedlove, Booneville and Mrs. W. L. Caver, Booneville.

Funeral services will be held at Candler's Chapel at ten o'clock Thursday morning and at her special request will be conducted by Rev. J. O. Guntharp, of Rienzi.

The Independent joins in extending the most heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved children the passing of their splendid Christian mother.
