Funeral services for Mattie Pearl Nash Scott, of Sparta, who passed away Oct. 3, 1996, were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 from the Chapel of Thurman Funeral Home with interment at Oaklawn. Bro. Hollis Page officiated.
Mrs. Scott was a retired cook from the Bon De Croft School. Survivors include her son, James "Buddy" Nash of Sparta; daughters, Wilma Jean Sturgill of Illinois, Shirley Page of Smith Chapel, and Mary Etta Nash Forsythe of Sparta; sister, Verla Deaton of Georgia; brother Carl Simmons of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
