Promoted to Full Sergeant on 6 April 1864
Promoted to Full Sergeant 1st Class on 16 May 1864
Wounded at the Battle of Cold Harbor, Hanover County, Virginia.
Died of his wounds on 3 July 1864 in David's Island Hospital, NY Harbor.
