Stavenger, Vernon N., 76, Lexington, KY, husband of A. Connie Rodier Stavenger, died Sun., Aug. 5, 2007 at Mayfair Manor Nursing Home. Born in Beaver Creek, MN, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Ida Slieter Stavenger.

Mr. Stavenger was a retired Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church (Newman Center), and was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors other than his wife include two sons, Paul (Catherine) Stavenger and Robert (Mary) Stavenger; two daughters, Donna Maloy and Kathy Stavenger; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Marlene Cooksley and Donna Schiager; and his beloved dog, Lucy.

Funeral services were at The Newman Center with Father Tom Farrell officiating. Visitation was at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd., Lex., KY 40513.
