Vanola Gubler Wittwer

SANTA CLARA, UTAH - On February 5, 2011 our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed through the veil into the arms of her loving husband, Lester Guy Wittwer. Vanola Gubler was born August 10, 1915 in Santa Clara, Utah, the eldest child of Edmund and Eliza Hafen Gubler.

She is survived by five of her children: Joyce Whittaker, Royden Wittwer, Tony Wittwer, Melvin Wittwer, and Sheldon Wittwer; 28 grandchildren; and 61 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way including her first great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a brother, Darwin Gubler; sisters: Jewell Frei, Cleopha LeBaron , Linna Rosenlof, Edna Hunt, Fawn Mitchell, Reta Hansen; and by many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara LDS Chapel, 3040 Santa Clara Drive, Santa Clara, Utah. Visitations will take place Thursday evening, February 10, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Boulevard, St. George, Utah, and on Friday morning, February 11, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Clara LDS Chapel, prior to services.

Interment will follow the services at the Santa Clara Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary.
