He was the brother of: Fred Frank, Vernon, Louise "Lizzie" Augustine, Augusta "Gusta" A., Martha, William "Bill" Carl, Ferdinand H., Minnie B., John George, Anna Clara and Marie L. He was married to Leota Leona Gumm on Setpember 17, 1919 in Colorado. They had at least one son Wayne James.
