Rob was the son of  Henry (Hank) and Fern Gogolowski   While classmates called him, "“Go Go,"“ his family knew him as “Rob.”  He had a brother, Mike, and a sister, Chris.

Rob attended St. Elizabeth’s Grade School in Wyandotte, making many friends there who also went on to Gabriel Richard High School, Riverview.  In high school, Rob played basketball and football but football was his best sport. He graduated June 12, 1970.  His favorite song was, "“My Way,"” by Frank Sinatra.

Rob was fortunate in his draft number; he was never called for military service during the Vietnam War.  After graduation, Rob became a certified welder and worked for Ford Motor Company.  In his free time he played both 6-string and a very mean 12-string guitar.  Rob remained single and had a favorite cat named “Kilo.”  He was a member of the local Knights of Columbus and a dedicated Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan his entire life.

His brother, Mike said, "[We] saw Mt. McKinley and glaciers and caught salmon in Alaska.  He was a loving and compassionate man, willing to help you.  My mom and dad were always proud of Rob.  His many friends knew he would be there in a time of need.  I will always cherish memories of my brother, Rob."”
