Boston directory records indicate that shortly after her husband died in 1916, she moved in with her Brother (Joseph F. Doyle) who was living at 374 Border St. In 1918, she had another daughter, Hilda M. Kelly. Even though Hilda's birth and death records indicate William Kelly was the father, the time between his death and her birth does not support that. My great uncle Joe Doyle believed that Hilda's father was a LeBlanc who also lived in East Boston.
In 1920, Christine and Hilda were both patients at the Boston Long Island Harbor Hospital, a public health hospital for infectious diseases. At the same time, the three Kelly children were scattered with their aunts and uncles in East Boston, Charlestown and Mattapan.
In 1921, Christina remarried a William J. Walsh, a longshoreman. They moved to Chelsea where she had a fifth child, a son, in 1925, Robert Walsh, whom later died in Germany following the Battle of the Bulge in the Winter of 1945. Her second husband is thought to have returned to Canada sometime after WW-2.
Christina died in 1939, and was buried in a paupers grave.
Her paupers grave had been unmarked for over 60 years, only in 2002 was this small monument erected by the Ahern's who found her grave when they went searching for her. She is only three people in the poor gravefield with such a monument.
She had been lost to the memory of the Doyle family until about the mid 1980s and her life wasnt fit together in 2010.
Despite her hard life, and her detachment from the Kelly's and the Doyle's - she leaves behind her 64 descendents as of 2003!
