VIENNA, March 3--(Special)--Arthur B. Stratman, 28, a World War 2 veteran, and a former resident of Jefferson City, died Wednesday at the Veterans hospital at Jefferson Barracks. He had been ill of cancer.

Mr. Stratman was born March 18, 1922, at Vienna, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stratman. He was married in Vienna in April, 1946. His wife died in Jefferson City on May 29, 1949. Stratman had been working in the Capital City as a carpenter at the time.

Stratman served in the Pacific theater for over three years. Survivors include a son, Ronald, 27 months old; his parents; five brothers, Cellus, Walter, Eugene, Paul and Alvin, all of Vienna; four sisters, Mrs. Alvin Reichel, Jefferson City and the Misses Helen, Rosemary and Patricia, all at home; and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rankemeyer, Jefferson City, uncle and aunt.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Vienna Visitation Catholic church with burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
