PICKERING--On Saturday evening, August 16, 1947. Harry A., husband of Lillian Kendall Pickering, of 460 Orchard Ave., Bellevue; father of Mrs. Roanna K. Fisher; brother of Mr. E. Stanley Pickering, Miss Winiford Pickering and Miss Rose Pickering. Friends received at the Edward T. Daugherty Funeral Home, 366 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue. Services Tuesday afternoon, at 2 p. m.

Funeral Services for Harry A. Pickering, chief special agent of the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission for 34 years, will be held tomorrow at 2 p. m. in the Edward T. Daugherty Funeral home 366 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue.

Mr. Pickering died suddenly on Saturday at his home, 460 Orchard Ave., Bellevue. He was 72.

After working as a reporter on the old "Gazette Times," Mr. Pickering joined the Carnegie Commission in 1907 as a special agent. For six years, he traveled over the United States, Canada and Newfoundland to investigate acts of heroism.

In 1913, he was appointed chief special agent in charge of the work of reporting on deeds of courage performed by hundreds of civilians.

Mr. Pickering was a trustee of the Bellevue Methodist Church and a former director of Bellevue Schools.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillian Kendall Pickering and one daughter Mrs. Allen Fisher, of Arlington, W. Va.
