Polly Ann Arnett, 78 year old Checotah resident, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Polly was born on Saturday, April 30, 1932 in Texanna, Oklahoma to Grover and Susie Ellen (Brensfield) Goad. She grew up in Checotah and attended Central High. At the age of 16, on Thursday, December 23, 1948, Polly married Eardon Arnett in Checotah, Oklahoma. Polly and Eardon moved to Bakersfield, California where she became a homemaker. In 1958 they moved back to Checotah where she worked at White Stag, as a sewing machine operator. Polly worked at Nichols Grocery and Cardinal Grocery, as a checker, and drove as the lead flag vehicles. She later worked in her own flea market business. Polly's hobbies included sewing and gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eardon Arnett; two sisters, Lavern Goad, Marjarie Goad; one brother, Sam Goad. Polly is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Ahmed and husband Abdul of Broken Arrow, Linda Joyce McKnight; one grandson, Abdul Rehman Ahmed, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Grover Goad of Checotah, JL Goad and wife Beverly of Tulsa; one nephew, Butch Goad and wife Mryna of Checotah, other nieces, nephews other extended family and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 11, 2011 at Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Everett Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Triplett Cemetery. Garrett.
