In the 1900 census of Wells County , Indiana list him as Elie Lee, the 1910 list him as Alexander. In the 1910 census he is living next to his brother William and owns a Mortgaged farm. He is listed as a surviving son on his father's obituary. His nephew Earl Grove who is 4 is living with him and his family in the 1910 census. His father appointed him as Executor of his will. He was superintendent of the United Methodist Church of Poneto from 1907-1910. In the Bluffton Museum is a McBricks Account Book from his furniture store and in 1883 Alexander Lee purchased a bedstead for $5.00. In Rural Resident directory of Wells County, Indiana he is listed as living in Poneto.
He is buried in Stahl Cemetery- Stout Addition- there is no headstone for him or his wife. The directions for the burial lots are Turn into Stahl Cemetery at the Western most Drive. Go to the first right (East) Turn (At old water pump) After the turn to the east on your Right (South) Go about 11 headstones to the John O. & Carrie E. Blair. In the row of Headstones that go south behind the Blair Headstone, about the 6th stone is a red monument, for Winifred Kirkwood, Their daughter married to Melvin Kirkwood. Immediately next to it are two unmarked graves. He was buried in a wooden box. Next to him to the north is Sarah's and she is buried in a casket and cement vault. In 1920 Alexander was the Janitor of the school in Poneto.

ALEXANDER LEE
DIES AT PONETO

Alexander Lee, 76, died at 4 o'clock
This morning at his home in Poneto. He had been in poor health for some time.
He was born in Wells county on March 22, 1861, a son of Alexander and Susan Ansel Lee and was a lifelong resident of the county. His marriage to Sarah Blair took place in February, 1882.
Surviving besides the widow are two children. Robert A. Lee and Mrs. Ed McKinney, both of Bluffton. Three daughter, Catherine and Daisy Lee and Mrs. Melvin Kirkwood are deceased.
There are four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mr. Lee was the last of a family of ten children. He was a member of the M.E. church at Poneto and was superintendent of the Sunday School for a number of years.
Funeral at 2 P.M. Friday with Rev. J. Stewart and Rev. Kenneth Smith in Charge. Burial will be in the Stahl Cemetery.
